What's your favorite podcast?

Ones I currently love:

This American Life (always and forever),
The Moth,
Slate's Culture GabFest (really good),
Stuff Mom Never Told You,
Stuff You Missed in History Class,
Stuff You Should Know,
WNYC's RadioLab.

Always open to new suggestions! I just started the Slate Audio Book Club, so I can't say yet if I love it. But the Culture GabFest is REALLY good and I kind of want to marry Stephen Metcalf, just based on his sense of humor and how he says "Da-na" and "Ju-lia" (his frequent co-hosts' names).

If you don't want comments to your posts showing up on FB and Twitter, and if you have an S2 journal style, you can get rid of the new cross-posting option for your journal. Just go here, find the big box for CSS customization, and paste in the code you'll find here.

No more Facebook/Twitter options visible in your Livejournal.

If you have $25, go loan it to someone whose life makes our "economic crisis" seem like Scrooge McDuck's golden swimming pool.

Kiva.org

And if you regret it, you can withdraw your same $25 once your loan person pays it back. And they do! I've reloaned the same $25 three times now to three different people! :) :) :)

Kiva.org --

"Kiva lets you loan to a specific entrepreneur in the developing world -- empowering them to lift themselves out of poverty."

A new, more personal twist on the good work microloan organizations like Opportunity International have been doing for a long time.

Please spread the word if at all inclined!

Stem Cell Therapy has Cured Type I Diabetes for 13 out of 15 in Brazil study

Please pass on this link to anyone you know who might be affected. And please vote for candidates who support stem cell research. My father died from this disease 20 years ago this summer.

List of generic drugs that are now $4 at many Walmart pharmacies.

It's like Darth Vader handing out candy, I know, but some people still need candy.
